Wegatech, installer of photovoltaic systems, now installs Spot my Energy's smart meters directly at the customer's home when installing pv systems. This allows the systems to be immediately productive without delays caused by bureaucratic processes. Spot then takes over the metering point operation and also offers customers dynamic electricity tariffs and intelligent optimization of electricity consumption.

The EEBUS Initiative e.V. and its members are developing a communication standard for energy-related devices and systems. The standard covers the entire chain from grid operators and energy suppliers to end devices. As a member of the initiative, we are pleased to make an active contribution to the standardisation and development of flexibility.
This is the conclusion of a study conducted on our behalf by the Cologne-based consultancy r2b energy consulting GmbH.
Dynamic electricity tariffs pass on day-ahead spot market prices to private households. The load of large electricity-consuming assets, such as electric vehicles and heat pumps, can thus be shifted to times of low or negative wholesale electricity prices. To bill time-variable prices, a smart meter is required. The smart meter records electricity consumption every fifteen minutes and communicates with a Home Energy Management System (HEMS), which manages the consumption of flexible elecricity-consuming assets.

Just before Christmas, we reached an important milestone: we successfully installed our first smart meter. We are ready to start the smart meter rollout in 2024!

Only a couple weeks after its foundation, SPOT MY ENERGY finds the first investor: The young energytech startup from Cologne receives EUR 1.55 million in a pre-seed financing round led by Picus Capital. The funding will be used to further build the business and the team.
Serial entrepreneur Jochen Schwill embarks on his next cleantech adventure. After 12 successful years as founder and CEO of Next Kraftwerke, he founds SPOT MY ENERGY to bring smart metering to millions of German households.
